The United States Department of Energy (DOE) has proposed tighter requirements about general service light bulbs.

The DOE is taking steps to ensure that most common types of bulbs be required to meet federal standards for energy efficiency. The agency's notice of proposed rulemaking was published in the Federal Register on August 9 and can be reviewed here. The DOE will conduct a public meeting on this matter via webinar on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 10:00am to 4:00pm EDT.
